Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) - June 2016


Dentaa was honoured to have been awarded an MBE by Her Majesty The Queen on the ocassion of the Queen's 90th birthday.

An MBE is awarded for a significant achievement or outstanding service to the community. An MBE is also awarded for local ‘hands-on’ service which stands out as an example to other people.

Having worked tirelessly for years to promote trade and cultural synergy between the United Kingdom and Africa, Dentaa's services to UK-African diaspora relations was acknolwedged in the Queen's Birthday Honours list 2016. 

Dentaa expressed her gratitude to God, her family, and her team on this historic achievement.

BE Mogul Award - February 2015 


Dentaa won the Black Enterprise (BE) Mogul Award. She was presented her award at an exclusive ceremony at the Bellerive House, London, which was attended by trailblazing individuals in the Afro-Caribbean community in the UK.

The BE Mogul is the first of a new annual publication that celebrates and recognises most influential and inspirational black business owners in Britain today.

Dentaa was recognised for her outstanding entrepreneurial skills and her consistent contribution to business development in the UK.

In her acceptance speech, she expressed her gratitutde for the award, pointing out that the journey to success wasn't always smooth, but with faith, motivation, and strong influences around her, the end results will invariably be great.


British Award For African Development - December 2015 


The GUBA Awards won a British Award for African Development (BRAAD) in recognition of its outstanding achievement in community and social development. Dentaa accepted the award at a ceremony at the Houses of Parliament.

The award which seeks to acknowledge the efforts of non-governmental organisations actively working to promote business and stability in Africa, was awarded to the GUBA Awards for its efforts in bridging the gap between the UK and Ghana through community and social development.

Dentaa said that it was an honour to receive such an amazing award. She emphasised that, since its inception, GUBA had been dedicated to improving the African continent and that the award further proves that GUBA has to continue to be steadfast in its quest to improve the continent. 

She expressed her gratitude for receiving the award on behalf of all her teams.

Young Professional Role Model Awards - October 2015 


Dentaa was honoured as the Young Professional Role Model in Business by the Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC) in Accra. The awards seek to nurture new leaders to propel the socio-economic transformation in Ghana and other countries on the continent.

She was praised for her business innovation and creativity, and was praised for her work in organising the GUBA Awards through which many drew lessons and inspiration.

In acceptance of her award, Dentaa stated that GUBA always strives to inspire the younger generation for success, out of the love for Ghana. She express her pride at being honoured.


Best Event Organiser at Women for Africa Awards - May 2014 

EventAwardDentaa was adjudged the event organizer of the year at the third Women for Africa (WfA) Awards held in London over the weekend. The WfA Awards is aimed at awarding women who have distinguished themselves in various areas in life and was put together by Women4Africa a UK based organization focused on celebrating and empowering Africa and its women.

Speaking after picking the award, Dentaa expressed her surprise and delight at winningand attributed the success of the GUBA Awards to the months of planning, dedication and effort that the entire GUBA team puts into keeping the organisation running, and the event a success.

She added that being nominated was an achievement in itself. GUBA saw off competition from other five organisations who were also nominated for the award.

International Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Excellence Award - July 2013

CSRThe Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards was awarded a Silver Awards at the International Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Excellence Award, held on the HMS Belfast on the 29th July 2013 in London.

Following the success, GUBA’s remarkable achievement was published in the Global Guide to CSR Best Practice - the leading international work of reference on corporate social responsibility.

Speaking of GUBA's aims, Dentaa said that the organisation is focused on making an impact within the African community by supporting and encouraging growth in business, education, sports and entertainment. She added that it was an honour for an organisation that awards others for their excellence to itself be recognised as being excellent at what it does, concluding that "this only encourages GUBA to continue its good works.”

Most Innovative African Woman in Europe Award - June 2013


Dentaa won the Most Innovative African Woman at the African Women in Europe Awards. The prestigious event acknowledges and rewards influential African women in Europe. Dentaa stood out amongst a pool of prestigious fellow nominees which included Justina Mutale, Priscilla Musonda and Lydia Kemunto Cutler.

Dentaa’s accomplishments to date, especially through GUBA, played a vital part in her nomination and win. Her strong involvement within the Ghanaian community and her call for the development of Ghana were factors behind her being honoured. Through the call for development, the GUBA Awards was setup as a platform to highlight Ghanaian talent and to recognise members of the community that have impacted on the overall development and elevation of Ghana, especially within the United Kingdom.
